Saskatchewan fish catch a break

when International Water Screens catches debris

A water district in Saskatchewan, Canada needed to prevent fish and debris from entering an irrigation canal off a reservoir. We designed this screen taking into account water velocity, screen speed and mesh size so fish aren’t harmed.

We engineered this screen to work with a local engineering firm’s canal design and built it with local contractors. Then we traveled to Saskatchewan to train them on using it.

This project included:

  • Traveling Screen(s)
  • Elevator
  • Pump
  • Trash Container
  • Control Panel
  • Head Loss Level Reader
  • Filter
  • Automatic Flash Filter
  • Conveyor

We designed this screen to a local engineering firm’s specs. A local contractor installed it. The local fish feel good about it.

Debris are lifted from reservoir to levee and water, but not fish or debris, passes through to the irrigation canal beyond.

We design, build and install custom screens for a wide variety of customers.
Our traveling water screen applications are used in many industries worldwide.

Our screens include:

  • Debris removal screens
  • Cooling tower water screens
  • Fish screens
